Wishing you acceptance, understanding and compassion.

Holidays can be hard and stressful – this seems to be particularly true in the LGBTQ community. Many of us lead separate lives returning “home” can be especially stressful. I know it is for me.

That said I wish each of you acceptance, understanding and compassion – and if those things are gifts you will not receive from people that are important to you, give them to yourself.

Give yourself acceptance, understanding and compassion for who you are. Until you do, you can’t expect to receive them from the world. Live your life and your truth.

Be grateful to the straight people in your life, even the straight, bigoted, judgemental people in your life. After all if it weren’t for them you wouldn’t be the wonderful queer person that you are.

Being true to yourself is the best gift you can give yourself and give to the world.

So to an interdependent, peaceful world in 2008 – full of acceptance, understanding and compassion.

Remember love wins.
